First Custom ROM for the HTC One is here

The developers over at xda are wreaking havoc (in a good way). First custom ROM for the HTC One has been baked and is now available for download. The ROM is called Android Revolution and has been baked by xda recognized developer mike1986.

We are pretty sure once the HTC One gets in the hands more developers we will see a flurry of roms for the latest flagship device from HTC, the One.

For more details and downloads head over to the original thread on xda.

CyanogenMod 9 released for the Motorola Xoom

Highly Functional CM9 Kang released for the Motorola Xoom

Here we have it folks!  This is something my daughter, Alyssa will be VERY excited about.  She got a Motorola Xoom for graduation last year and every time her and I are talking ROMS and her Xoom she always asks me if CyanogenMod is available for her Xoom.  She would have settled for CM7 (keep your Gingerbread flames to yourself :)....  she's a CyanogenMod fan, just like Dad).

The XDA Developers that never sleep have brilliantly pulled together a CM9 ROM (Kang), that is as smooth as silk.  There is only one function they don't have working yet, which is fine with me because of this mug my parents have dealt me.  That is the facial unlocking feature.  I was never a real fan of this feature since watching the official release of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus live on YouTube.  So.....  if this feature never gets built in I'm fine with that, although I know a lot of people are looking forward to it.

Now lets get to where and how you can get this ROM on your shiny Motorola Xoom.

Head on over to Team Rogues thread and be sure to hit that little thanks  button and more importantly hit that dontate button and buy them a red Bull to keep them ROM's coming.

Includes:
+Source from CyanogenMod 9 (1/9/11)
+Full support for Camera, HDMI and Video acceleration (from the leaked 4.0.3 ROM)
+Rogue XM Kernel 2.0.1
+Disabled lockscreen rotation
+Allow apps to write to SD card (thanks kcrudup)
+Tweaked ICS boot animation (thanks Sardo Numspa)
Known issues:
-Face unlock does not work

Here's the XDA thread for CM9

Well, have at it ladies and gents!  I'm off to find my daughter's Xoom!

Galaxy Nexus one click root method. Actually Galaxy Nexus one click everything!

Galaxy Nexus one click root methd, unlocks bootloader and installs ClockworkMod.

Galaxy Nexus Toolkit Updated To 3.0, New One-Click Everything! The Galaxy Nexus one click Toolkit by forum moderator and recognized developer mskip has always been the must-have tool for owners of that device. It easily unlocks the bootloader, roots the phone, and installs ClockWorkMod to get you all ready and set up for your flashing needs, and provides many other useful options.
Better yet, it was just updated to version 3.0, which does all of the aforementioned steps with one click – so, even if you’re not familiar with all that stuff but are willing to take the risk of voiding your warranty, you can now go ahead and enjoy all the custom ROM goodness the Galaxy Nexus has to offer. Should you change your mind, it also allows you to relock the bootloader and reflash the stock recovery.
Sounds good enough? Visit the forum thread, which also provides detailed tutorials and lots of FAQs to help you get started.

Thanks to all the brilliant devs over at XDA!

Amazon's Kindle Fire rooted yet again after the 6.2.1 update

Look what we have here folks!  December 20th there was the 6.21 Amazon Kindle Fire update which broke root and was also unrootable.  Three days later the guys over at rootzwiki didn't want to hear any of that noise.  It's always nice to keep your device up to date with the most current OS versions but with updates sometimes you lose root and have to wait for a new method.  In case you haven't noticed, Android developers don't have much patience when it comes to road blocks for their users. Wipe them tears if you took that update and head on over to Rootzwiki and get back in your saddle.  Having Google's Android Market available makes it worth rooting alone. :)
